I Never Knew You
Wonderful moody polaroid photographs of lovely model Brooklyn Sitowski shot by talented photographer Bret Watkins.
“This series came about after talking with the model, Brooklyn Sitowski, about a mysterious red suitcase she found in her families attic. The suitcase belonged to her grandmother, whom Brooklyn never met as she passed months before her birth. Inside the suitcase, Brooklyn found journals and an unpublished novel that her grandmother wrote in the 1970s when she was the same age as Brooklyn is now. Her grandmother was a 23-year-old single mother, afraid, alone and trying to figure out how to survive on her own. We tried to recreate a day in Brooklyn’s grandmother’s life commuting to Chicago and trying to figure out what to do next. We also shot exclusively with Polaroid to match the 70s aesthetic.”
