The Flames of Nero Burn the Brightest

the titan Prometheus stole fire from Zeus and gave it to the people.
the gift of fire marked the start of civilisation, it set humans apart from the rest of the earthly kingdom.
humans control fire, or so they think.
in the book of Genesis fire is rained down upon the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah as an act of divine retribution, a punishment against alleged sins.
fire is knowledge, power, dominion, and destruction. both life and death. in this manner, fire can be seen as an analogy of the hunger for political power. of tyrants. of dictators. yet fire also gives us the opportunity to start anew. burned fields are all the more fertile. a phoenix always rises out of the ashes. the brightest flames births hope for the future.
